Shoko Tamai
Shoko Tamai est la fondatrice et directrice artistique du Ninja Ballet. Elle est lauréate du Solo Seal Award de la Royal Academy of Dance de Londres et finaliste de la Compétition Mondiale de Ballet. Elle s'est produite dans les plus grandes salles et auprès de compagnies de danse du monde entier, notamment au Royal Opera House, au Lincoln Center et au Jacob's Pillow. Son travail a été publié dans des revues telles que BroadwayWorld, Dance Enthusiast, Metro US et TimeOut New York.
Shoko a dansé pour de nombreuses compagnies de renom, notamment le Dance Theatre of Harlem, le Forces of Nature Dance Theatre et One Drop/Cirque du Soleil à ses débuts. En plus des tournées et de son enseignement de la danse classique en Europe et aux États-Unis, elle a étudié les arts martiaux avec Jamie HJ Guan de l'Opéra de Pékin et Tony Ortiz de New York Eskrima. En 2019, elle s'est produite au Festival Fringe d'Édimbourg et sa chorégraphie dans "The Tempest" à la Plaxall Gallery a été en nomination dans la catégorie Meilleure Chorégraphie, Prix Théâtre Innovant de New York. Shoko Tamai is the founder and artistic director of Ninja Ballet. She is the Solo Seal Award winner from the Royal Academy of Dance in London and a finalist in the World Ballet Competition. She has performed in leading venues and dance companies around the world, including at the Royal Opera House, Lincoln Center, and Jacob’s Pillow. Her work has been featured in such publications as BroadwayWorld, Dance Enthusiast magazine, Metro US, and TimeOut New York.
Shoko has performed with many notable companies including Dance Theatre of Harlem, Forces of Nature Dance Theatre, and with One Drop/Cirque du Soleil at its inception. In addition to touring and teaching classical dance in Europe and the US, she has studied martial arts with Jamie HJ Guan from the Beijing Opera and Tony Ortiz of New York Eskrima. In 2019, she performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and was also nominated for Outstanding Choreography by the New York Innovative Theatre Awards for her choreography in “The Tempest” at the Plaxall Gallery. Shoko has been endorsed by world-leading artists, including the late Arthur Mitchell and Keith Saunders, from Dance Theatre of Harlem, Guy Laliberté of Cirque du Soleil, and Abdel Salaam at Forces of Nature Dance Theatre. |
